Guaranteed Ad Rates now Extended to MySpace Applications

We have been ecstatic with the response to our new guaranteed CPM program for Facebook, Bebo and other social net applications (especially the plug from TechCrunch). And now with the launch of the MySpace Developer program, we’re excited to now extend the program to include MySpace applications. Though the MySpace platform opens to end users in 30 days, developers can get their Lookery ad codes from us now. Having the codes early allows developers to build Lookery ads into their applications so they are making money from day 1. If you are already a Lookery publisher, then please contact Rex to get your new MySpace codes. And if you’re a new Lookery publisher – just follow the signup process that begins on our home page.

In addition, based on what we learned last night at the MySpace Developer launch event, there are some very interesting and important differences with what MySpace is providing to developers. In MySpace, applications will have three areas where they control the real estate – the widget on the user’s profile, an application profile page and application canvas pages. The additional opportunity to run ads on the application profile page opens up new real estate as Facebook’s application profile page does not offer the developer enough control so that they can run ads on the page.

In addition, the MySpace canvas page is bigger then Facebook’s as well. MySpace is only controlling the top navigation and offering the full width of the page to developers. This is very important from an advertising perspective as now, publishers will be able to run the very popular 728×90 Leaderboard (aka Super Banner) ad format. If you have any questions about formats and ad options for your MySpace application don’t hesitate to leave a comment here or email us directly.

Overall, we’re very happy with what MySpace is offering developers and think it offers great monetization potential. And with our $0.125 CPM rate to start, application developers can make money on 100% of their MySpace traffic from the day the platform publicly launches.
